CONTEXT
Located in a modern residential complex in Eindhoven, this apartment stands out for its spacious open areas and the natural light that filters through the large windows, a hallmark of Nordic architecture. The goal of the project was to enhance these features, creating a harmonious and functional environment that combines aesthetics and comfort in the living area, consisting of an open-plan living room and kitchen.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project involved a careful redefinition of the space to emphasize visual continuity and spatial fluidity. The choice of an open-plan layout for the living area maximized natural light, creating an airy and welcoming atmosphere. The furnishings and materials were selected to enhance the apartment’s clean and contemporary design, maintaining a balance between modernity and comfort.
The kitchen, integrated into the living area, was designed with a minimalist and sleek aesthetic, featuring white surfaces and dark cabinetry, creating a refined contrast. The large central dining table serves as the focal point for social gatherings, visually separating the two areas without disrupting the perception of space. A suspended element with plants adds a touch of freshness and natural charm.
INTERIORS
The color palette is dominated by neutral and bright tones: white and light gray combine to create an elegant and timeless environment. The living room is furnished with sofas featuring clean lines and light-colored fabric upholstery, while organically shaped coffee tables introduce a sense of fluidity and movement.
Decorative elements such as graphic prints, designer lamps, and an open bookshelf enrich the space with a personal touch without overwhelming the environment. Lighting plays a key role in defining the atmosphere: recessed spotlights, minimalist pendant lamps, and a large arc lamp create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, enhancing every corner of the room.
MATERIALS AND FINISHES
The use of modern materials and refined finishes was central to the design of this space. Matte surfaces and metallic details add a sophisticated and contemporary touch. The textile rug with geometric patterns defines the living area and creates a visual connection between the furnishings.
The result is a balanced and harmonious open space, where functionality meets elegance in a perfect blend of Nordic style and contemporary comfort.
